Note, IRC is quite well suited for talks about development issues, but it is much less convenient than the [[Mailinglists|mailinglists]] for usage questions.  There are by far more people present on the mailinglists which much increases your chances to get qualified answers there.  And people can search in the list archives for possible earlier related discussions.  IRC is definitely not suitable for bug reports; those should go to [[Mailinglists|linux1394-devel]] (first choice) or the [[Bug Tracker|bug tracker]] (second choice).

If you enter the IRC channel and see that other people are listening there, be prepared that they may not respond immediately or not even within hours because they might be away.  So be patient and keep watching the channel long enough for eventual responses.
